First ski trip

Matheus traveled to Appalachian Ski Mountain for his first ski trip today......he went with his buddy Marco who is the other foreign exchange student at West. Marco took his bookbag with him and he was carrying Matheus' wallet in the bag for him. As they were riding on the ski-lift, Marco went to get something out of the bag and he dropped it. They saw an employee there at App Ski Mtn pick it up so they figured they could come back and get it. They traveled back down the mountain as soon as they could but found that the employee had sent the bag to the top with someone. They went to the top and looked in lost and found but there was no bag to be found.
They never found it and inside was atheus' ID from Brazil (shown above), his school ID, his credit card as well as about $40 cash. He called his mom and she cancelled the credit card right away....we are still praying that the bag will be found. Tommy called App. Ski Mountain when Matheus got home but they had not found it then....they have Matheus' cell number and our home number to call if it shows up.

Other than losing the bag....I think they had a good day....as the video below shows.

My sexy husband was such a good sport....as he missed the kickoff (thanks to some poor communication with Marco's host parents).
He is SOOO awesome!!!

Matheus was stopped and given a high five as he went in the gate by one of the co-eds who was selling programs.....
she was also a Washington
Redskin fan....and pretty cute too!!

Matheus took two friends with him today....Bryson and Marco (the other exchange student at WCHS...he is from Germany).

First Playoff Game---with SNOW!!!!

Today we traveled to wintery Boone to see ASU play in their first playoff match up against Western Illinois.

Jacques and Shirley joined us....I don't think she got a very good impression of football as it was FREEZING and either raining, sleeting or snowing the majority of the time we were there.

Matheus' friend, Bryson, also joined us....the original plan was for he and Matheus to travel there separately as Bryson drives but God gave us this white blanket which made Bryson's mom, Cindy, ask if they could ride with us. God is good! Bryson is a really nice young man....his only flaw seems to be that he is a Duke fan...ha.

ASU beat Western Illnois 42-14. The mountaineers rushed for 417 yards....so we could enjoy the beautiful weather even longer....ha. Here are some cool pics from the day.
