I received a call from Tommy today while I was at PHS......he started with....'don't stress out....I'm ok'.....not the way you want a conversation to begin. Someone broke into our home today while he was gone taking Matheus to school. Thank God he had gone to the store to pick up a few things after he dropped him off or he may have walked in on the thief's.....God is SOOO good to us! They kicked our back door in.....the molding around the door was completely destroyed and there was footprint on the door. They took our brand new LCD TV that we got on sale on Black Friday, along with all our wii games, some movies, my sound machine, my computer, Matheus' computer and headphones. I hated having to tell the boy about it.....we called the school and had him call us as we needed the brand of the computer for the police report. He just said 'unbelievable.' It looked like they were in a big hurry as they had started to take the wii but just left it as it is hard to disconnect. It didn't look like they did much upstairs as the sound machine was the only thing taken.....thank God they didn't take the gun! Our great friend, Dillon, came over and fixed the door for us or we would be sitting up all night with the gun! He said he put some extra reinforcement on the casing around the door.
It really makes you start to think about security and how we are NEVER secure.....if someone wants to get in your house....they can do it. The police officer that came out told us that most burglars know how long it takes for the police to get there so they don't care about alarms. Very reassuring...huh?
True security comes from God.....Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21 I praise God that NO ONE can steal your love and mercy and that my salvation is secure!
